Information about Cambridge

Getting to Cambridge

Train: There is a regular train service between Cambridge and London. Buses run from the main train station to the city centre every ten minutes (citi 1, 3, 7 and 8) and it costs about £10 to take a taxi from the station to the workshop venue.

Coach: Please see National Express for full information about routes, timetable and fare. The drop-off point of the National Express coaches is on Parkside.

Car: As very limited parking is available for visitors near the University, we recommend you to travel by public transport. Participants who really cannot do without car parking should contact the workshop organisers.

Air: The closest airport from Cambridge is Stansted, which is 30 miles from Cambridge. If you have a private aircraft, you can also use Cambridge Airport.

Accommodation

Although Cambridge has a wide range of accommodation, we recommend visitors to book accommodation well in advance - Cambridge is a popular tourist destination and is crowded in summer!

If you would like to stay in a College room, you can book on-line here. Please also check Visit Cambridge. Please see the University web site for more information for visitors.
