Current Call and Submission Guidelines

The editorial team is happy to announce the 2020 call for papers. The deadline for this call is the 14 February 2020.

We welcome submissions from any subdomain of linguistics, including but not limited to the following:

  • Syntax
  • Semantics
  • Phonology
  • Phonetics
  • Morphology
  • Pragmatics
  • Historical Linguistics
  • Language Acquisition
  • Pyscholinguistics
  • Computational Linguistics
  • Sociolinguistics

Authors may submit full articles of 10,000 words (excluding data, tables, figures and bibliography) or squibs of any length up to approximately 3,500 words (excluding data, tables, figures and bibliography).

Students wishing to submit must have their paper reviewed by their supervisor prior to submission. Staff may submit at their own discretion. In cases of joint work, the primary investigator must approve submission.

We strongly encourage submission in LaTeX (.tex) with an accompanying BibTex (.bib) file. Submissions in .doc/docx format are also accepted. Please consult our formatting guidelines for further details.

COPiL will review submissions for formatting, style, and egregious grammar and spelling errors only.

This year, we are also organising a poster event to provide authors with the opportunity to engage with audiences and receive direct feedback for their work. Authors will be automatically accepted for the poster presentations but must provide an abstract by 16 January 2020. More details can be found here.

Submissions and/or enquiries should be directed to Alex Cairncross (aac61 at cam.ac.uk) or Sana Kidwai (sak83 at cam.ac.uk).
